The PAPR Laser Welding & Cleaning Replacement Face Plates are designed for industrial laser applications and are available in three lens configurations: Weld Flash Shade 3, Weld Flash Shade 5, and Laser Cleaning 417.

These replacement face plates are designed for use with compatible RPB® Z-Link® face shield systems, allowing operators to replace an existing lens plate without purchasing an entirely new helmet or PAPR system.

Each lens configuration provides different optical characteristics to accommodate various laser welding, laser cleaning, and industrial processing applications.

A specialized laser safety filter designed for compatible industrial laser cleaning applications. Provides wavelength-specific laser radiation protection with different optical characteristics than the Weld Flash Shade 3 and Shade 5 configurations.

Features

  • Three available lens configurations: Shade 3, Shade 5, and 417

  • Designed for compatible RPB® Z-Link® face shield systems

  • Replacement face plates for existing compatible helmet assemblies

  • Wavelength-specific laser radiation protection

  • Options for different visible light transmission requirements

  • Designed for industrial laser welding and cleaning environments

  • Allows replacement of the face plate without purchasing an entire PAPR system

Important Compatibility Information

This product includes the selected replacement face plate only. The RPB® Z-Link® face shield, helmet assembly, breathing hose, and powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) system are not included.

Customers should verify compatibility with their existing RPB® Z-Link® equipment before ordering.

Important Safety Information

Laser welding and cleaning systems can generate hazardous airborne particulates, reflected laser radiation, and bright process emissions depending on the laser wavelength, power level, material interaction, and operating environment.

Each face plate has its own wavelength-specific optical density ratings. Visible shade ratings alone do not establish adequate laser radiation protection.

Always verify the laser wavelength, required optical density, and equipment compatibility before use. Final PPE selection should be reviewed by the on-site Laser Safety Officer (LSO) or qualified safety professional.

ANSI Z136 & Laser Welding Safety

Industry guidance for laser welding protective equipment, weld-flash protection, and hazard evaluation.

ANSI logo

ANSI Z136 Laser Safety Standards

Laser Safety Industries manufactures laser welding safety products designed to support ANSI Z136 laser safety programs and laser controlled area requirements. Product specifications are provided to assist in the selection of appropriate protective equipment based on wavelength, power, and application requirements.

Weld-Flash Protection

Laser welding processes generate intense visible light from the weld zone in addition to hazardous laser radiation. Depending on the application, operators may utilize Shade 3 or Shade 5 weld-flash protection to improve comfort and visibility while maintaining appropriate laser protection.

Hazard Evaluation Requirements

Laser welding safety programs commonly utilize multiple layers of protection, including laser safety eyewear, face shields, windows, barriers, and controlled-area measures. The appropriate combination of protective equipment should be determined through a documented laser hazard evaluation.
