Flexible, Expandable Containment Configurations
This modular barrier system is designed to adapt to your workspace. This system can be configured into a full laser welding booth enclosure or partial containment setup. Panels connect via an integrated hinge system, allowing you to create different containment setups based on your application.
Choose from standard 10ft 6 inches ft or 6ft 6 inches side lengths. Custom side lengths are available upon request for an additional charge. The barriers are 6ft 7 inches high. Additional panels can be added over time, allowing the system to expand as your needs evolve.
• L-shaped configuration (2 collapsible barriers) for corner containment
• U-shaped configuration (3 collapsible barriers) for defined work zones
• Full laser welding booth enclosures using four or more collapsible barriers
Maximum Irradiance
- Welding Laser (1,064 nm): at 4,000 W/cm² tested for 100 seconds with a 1 mm beam
- CO₂ Laser (10,600 nm): at 4,000 W/cm² tested for 100 seconds with a 1 mm beam
- Visible Laser (520 nm): at 4,000 W/cm² tested for 100 seconds with a 0.5 mm beam
Barrier selection is based on the irradiance (energy density) reaching the containment material — not simply the laser's rated output power.
Entryway Controls & Interlocks
This hardwall can be configured to integrate with laser interlock systems and other entryway-control devices when appropriate for the application.
For Class 4 laser controlled areas, ANSI Z136 does not universally require a non-defeatable door interlock. ANSI provides for non-defeatable and defeatable entryway controls, while procedural entryway controls may be used when those approaches are not feasible or are inappropriate for the application, subject to the applicable procedural safeguards and hazard assessment.
OSHA has also specifically cautioned against assuming every laser hazard should be controlled simply by placing the laser in an interlocked room. In its Guidelines for Laser Safety and Hazard Assessment, OSHA states that as laser applications expanded, enclosing lasers in interlocked rooms became limiting and, in many cases, could be an “expensive over-reaction to the real hazards present.” OSHA
At the federal level, OSHA does not impose a universal requirement that every Class 4 laser room have a door interlock. OSHA’s own technical guidance describes ANSI laser standards as voluntary unless specifically required by another organization or authority. OSHA
That does not mean interlocks are unnecessary. They can be an important and appropriate control for many laser welding and Class 4 installations. The correct entryway-control approach should be based on the actual hazard, facility design, application, and applicable state or local requirements.
Always consult your on-site Laser Safety Officer (LSO) to determine the appropriate controls for your specific installation.
Optional Laser Safety Viewing Windows
Laser safety viewing windows are available in a variety of materials and optical-density ranges to accommodate different laser wavelengths and applications.
The standard window size is can be seen in the dropdown. The larger viewing windows shown in some product images and display configurations are custom window sizes and are not the standard configuration.
Windows can be added to individual wall sections or incorporated into the access door. For applications where broad visibility is not necessary, a smaller viewing area can be used in the door rather than adding windows throughout the enclosure.
For laser welding applications, window options are also available that provide both laser protection and weld-flash attenuation.
The appropriate window should be selected based on the laser wavelength, required optical density (OD), and application-specific exposure conditions. Always consult your on-site Laser Safety Officer (LSO) when selecting laser safety viewing materials.

Signage and Specifications
Create a flexible laser containment setup with this expandable, modular barrier system—designed for environments where safety, adaptability, and efficiency are critical. This system can be configured into a full laser welding booth enclosure or partial containment setup. Each panel connects via an integrated hinge system, allowing you to configure your workspace as needed.
Start with a single panel or small configuration and expand into a larger containment system over time. Panels can be arranged into:
• L-shaped setups for corner containment
• U-shaped configurations for defined work zones
• Full laser welding booth enclosures using four or more panels
The system is designed for quick setup and repositioning, making it well suited for laser welding, fabrication, and other industrial laser applications where layouts may change.
Unlike fixed enclosures, this modular approach allows you to reconfigure your containment as workflows evolve—without committing to a permanent structure.
Panels are mounted on heavy-duty frames with casters for mobility and stability, enabling fast deployment and easy storage when not in use.
Final configuration and suitability should always be reviewed by your Laser Safety Officer (LSO) based on laser type, power, beam characteristics, and workspace layout.

Protect your team and your workflow with the Collapsible Laser Welding Barrier—where industry-leading safety meets unmatched speed and convenience.
LSOs (Laser Safety Officer) need to consider working environments, viewing conditions and beam delivery systems when making assessments and determining the correct laser glasses , goggles, barriers, or windows to protect against potentially hazardous laser radiation. Do not operate lasers without correct protective equipment and training. All laser safety glasses and goggles are made for indirect viewing only.

Understanding Laser Barrier Protection
Laser barriers and curtains are used to help contain reflected and scattered laser radiation around a controlled work area.
Understanding how laser energy spreads through an environment is often more important than simply knowing the laser's rated power. The amount of energy reaching the containment boundary can be dramatically different from the energy present near the laser source.
This 3-minute video explains how laser energy spreads throughout a workspace and why containment requirements are often determined by the energy reaching the containment boundary rather than simply the laser's rated power.

Laser power alone does not determine containment requirements. Understanding how laser energy spreads throughout a workspace is essential when establishing an appropriate containment boundary.
