Frequently Asked Eyewear Questions

View our Laser Safety Eyewear FAQ for information related to frame styles, lens options, and general eyewear usage considerations.

View our Laser Welding Safety Knowledge Base for guidance on fiber, diode, and Nd:YAG laser systems, including protection considerations for the 1030–1080 nm range.

These laser safety glasses are designed for protection across key near-infrared wavelength bands, with enhanced attenuation in the 1030–1080 nm range, covering the operating wavelengths of many fiber and Nd:YAG laser systems used in laser welding and material processing.

With a visible light transmission (VLT) of 45%, the light gray filter maintains strong operator visibility, allowing users to clearly observe the workpiece and welding process. This makes them well-suited for use underneath welding helmets or in environments where maintaining visibility is critical.

⚠️ Important:
These glasses do not provide protection from welding arc flash or visible arc radiation. They are intended for laser protection only and should be used in conjunction with appropriate welding PPE when arc exposure is present.

Common Laser Applications

General Region of Laser Protection

LSOs (Laser Safety Officer) need to consider working environments, viewing conditions and beam delivery systems when making assessments and determining the correct laser glasses , goggles, barriers, or windows to protect against potentially hazardous laser radiation. Do not operate lasers without correct protective equipment and training.  All laser safety glasses and goggles are made for indirect viewing only.
