408 is an acrylic laser safety filter window offering protection lasers systems (190-420 nm and 10,000-11,000 nm). This laser safety window is ideal for use in industrial, manufacturing, medical, education, and research environments. Laser windows can be custom cut, molded, and drilled to your CAD specifications for use in enclosures or machine windows. This laser safety window may provide protection from other laser wavelengths not listed. Please see Product Information for additional information about this filter or contact us. Filter specifications can be permanently engraved on the window. Custom sizes and shapes available.This laser safety viewing window meets and/or exceed US ANSI Z136 standards for use with lasers.

Optical Density is a measure of the transmittance of an optical element for a given length at a given wavelength . The higher the optical density, the lower the transmittance of light at a specified waveleng. See the ANSI Z136 for more information about OD and laser windows.

VLT: The attenuation of light by a filter in the visible spectrum. VLT is determined in relation to standard illumination and evaluated according to the daylight-adapted (photopic) or night-adapted (scotopic) conditions descriped more in the ANSI Z136.7 for Testing and Labeling of Laser Protective Equipment. The lower the VLT, the less "visible" light is transmitted. Laser glasses may affect the ability to see warning lights/signs or distinguis between colors.
